Typical Use Scenario
While PatentWatcher™ enables you to do all the things listed in the Introduction, the main reason it exists is to automatically run searches to alert you to new patents and published applications that meet your search criteria.
The sequence of the typical scenario of use is.
1. Create a search using Query-by-Form.
2. Save the search.
3. Select the saved search for automation.
4. Set automation parameters for the search (the interval between automated runs of the search and a file name where the hit list will be saved each time the search runs automatically).
5. Set the option to run PatentWatcher automatically at Windows startup.
6. Check the hit lists of the automated searches and select ones of interest to retrieve.
