Force Timer

In case you might want to run automated saved searches without waiting for the next 15 minute timer interval (see the topic Automating Selected Saved Searches), PatentWatcher™ provides the Force Timer command.  Click the Force Timer command button.

PatentWatcher™ will check whether it is time to run any automated searches.  If so, PatentWatcher™ will run them just as if, at the time you executed the command, the timer had reached the end of a 15 minute interval.

There are two reasons you might use Force Timer instead of Look.

• Look does not store the results of searches to the database of search results for automated searches.  Look is a manual command, not an automated feature.  Force Timer, although executed manually, will store its results to the database of search results for automated searches.
• There are differences in how date ranges are updated with Look and automation.  See the topic Date Ranges With Look and Automation and the subtopic "To Run or Not to Run An Automated Search" in the topic Automating Selected Saved Searches.
